Our Drupalista Study Group had a 1 year anniversary today! All of our meetings are online. We've had projects such as building modules, Drupal project reviews, various distribution testing (Commons & Commerce), 'guest speakers' (Thank you Rain! & Marek!), tested a variety of online collaboration tools, learned from & have taught each other (right now we are learning about Rules). Our meetings are on Monday nights, but our 'doors' are open always and we can usually count on someone answering questions or sharing tidbits of info throughout the week.
We've learned a lot, but even better, have built some great long distance friendships. We've given a lot of virtual hugs and hoorahs! It has been so awesome. And now and again we actually meet in person at a camp or a con. This ia a huge testament to the great community that Drupal fosters.
