I am looking for suggestions for hosting a Drupal Site with CiviCRM and eventually running an app off the server as well.

Site
I use Blue Host - the monthly fees are low for a hosting account in a shared server environment. They provide scripts for Drupal installation, provide MySQL and tools in that monthly fee. I have several drupal sites there.

CiviCRM Provider listing ...
You might want to check our new hosting partner provider listing here:
https://civicrm.org/providers/hosting
basically, we do advise folks to avoid the cheap hosting providers if you are planning on making any use of Civi. Spending a bit more on hosting is totally worth it in terms of making things easier and smoother

Civihosting.com
For a site that includes CiviCRM, I have used Civihosting.com. Rates are fair, support is responsive and knowledge of CiviCRM is top notch. I don't know whether they can also host your app, but I'm sure they could tell you promptly and clearly if you ask.
Others have recommended VPS with Linode.com.
Good luck.
BlackMesh
BlackMesh supports a number of CiviCRM deployments. We're fully-managed, so it's going to be more expensive than something like BlueHost or Linode, but you get the advantage of full support from a 24/7/365 NOC, and no-cost extras like managed backups and hardware firewalls.
We should probably look into getting added to that partner page!
I'll vouch for Blackmesh
Granted it is definitely more than some of the options, but its awesome to have a host that understands Drupal. Not only will they solve the issue, but if you ask, they will take the time to teach you what the problem was so you can fix or avoid it in the future. We switched to them a little over a year ago and I won't go back to a non managed host.
