Add 'Questions' to the Group categories

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

To the powers that be, please add a 'Questions' categories to the 'Group categories'. Somewhat like the Japan group has done.

This would facilitate members asking each other questions and gather them all in one easy place.

Thanks!

If I understood you correctly

Hi,

If I understood you correctly you were suggesting a question category in the Tokyo group? honestly the Tokyo group still doesn't have the gathering (resources) to cope with such tasks, but more so similar to your idea, the Japan group is pretty good at answering questions, and communities in Japan do need some focus/foothold in some areas due to size. So I would like to direct all those who have specific questions about Drupal to the Japan group for now. When the communities get larger maybe this group will become a full fledged Drupal group, but until then this group will be active in areas to compliment the activities of the Japan group. Or at least that's how I view it with all due respect.

If anyone has any questions regarding this group, please feel free to start a discussion. As soon as we get like a 10+ personnel meetup going, if requested there will be more organization in this group such as a larger IT oriented meeting place, maybe sponsors, and lectures. But until then I picture that we'll just be gathering and get to know each other.

Best regards,

Scott

But it's certainly a good idea

But it's certainly a good idea to think about new categories!

Please feel free to make more suggestions. Like how about a " Tutorial / Knowledge Base " category?

Best regards,

Scott

Hum ... you make valid

Hum ... you make valid points. If I posted to the Japan page I probably _wil_l get more eyes looking and than from this group. But then again, how many members of the Japan group would feel answering me in English?

I had the feeling the Japan group was more for Japanese speakers and this one more for English speakers. My Japanese ability is getting better day by day but I still find the Japan group's page intimidating :)

As for your idea about a Tutorial/Knowledge base, that a splendid idea. I'm definitely all for that!

Here's hoping we get to 10+ soon!

bilingual

The Japan group is bilingual as well. In fact some of the more advanced users all speak or at least understand English. If you post a technical question in English, you'd most likely get a response in English.

I wasn't aware that this group gave the impression that it was English oriented but I guess we've only been communicating in English. If someone wrote a comment in Japanese my response would be in Japanese. If it seemed important I'd write in both languages, and in the Japan group the efforts are similar.

Hopefully if Japanese users aren't joining this group for those reasons, they'd overcome their shyness. As they're free to join and just speak in Japanese.

Thanks for the clarification!
