Thanks to Stephen Barker and John Learned for showing up at the November Tampa Drupal Meetup. I was hoping that there would be a larger turn out, but I know that all of you Tampa Drupalers won't miss the 2010 Florida Drupal Camp in Orlando on February 20th & 21st.
I would like to see a user group in Tampa start happening more frequently, and soon. I think there are lots of users in the bay area that just need to organize and specify a meeting time and place; That's all it takes to get some regular meetups happening.
I think that the most important thing about getting people who are in close proximity to each other together, such as the South Florida Meetup, the Tallahassee Meetup, the Orlando Meetup and the Jacksonville Meetup (currently being organized) is so that we can become stronger as a community with the possibility of contributing more to Drupal and the communities around us [like "Coding for a Cause," the second day of 2010 Drupal Camp]. Hopefully, in the future we will be able to have Florida Drupal Camp in Miami, Key West, Tallahassee, etc, but first we have to create strong user groups in these areas.
