Sprint
The IMP team is working hard to complete a core migration path from Drupal 6 to Drupal 8 by the end of January 2014. Join us on November 19 between 9:00am - 5:00pm Pacific for our second sprint.
The IMP initiaitve lead, chx, will be guiding developers from all over via IRC in freenode's #drupal-contribute channel.
Portland-based OpenSourcery has dedicated a team of three outstanding developers to support a face-to-face sprint in downtown Portland, Oregon. If you're in town, consider joining us! https://groups.drupal.org/node/368358
Sprint Goal
The sprint goal is complete unit test coverage for
- lib/Drupal/migrate/MigrateExecutable.php
- lib/Drupal/migrate/Plugin/migrate/id_map/Sql.php
It's a great chance to get involved with Drupal 8 and get up to speed with PHPUnit in core.
Current tasks
- Among many things, chx is working on the FakeInsert, FakeUpdate, and FakeMerge classes so SQL writes in the id_map can be unit tested.
- Others are creating a slew of migrations and integration tests for variables-to-config. Detailed instructions are available, so you can just grab an issue without much previous knowledge. Reviews are happening swiftly (less than 24 hours) and chx and others are highly available in IRC to answer question.
- Late next week, we'll set up the sprint-day issues. If you'd like to lend a hand with that, let me know in the sprint planning issue.
