I have a friend that wants a simple website where she can sell chocolate suckers. She has quite a few customers already and wants a place that they can order they own product(s). Can someone please give me the a couple of ideas (and point me to how-to's) as to best set it up. Originally we thought a site that people can goto that shows retail prices and they can order product, but when they login (login and password) it could show different pricing. Is this a good way of doing wholesale/retail? If it helps all products would be the same for both retail/wholesale.

Can anyone give me some guidance on this as I am new to drupal but have done a couple of oscommerce sites in the past? How-to's, wiki's anything to get a sample site setup for her to see would be a great start. Thanks.

My firm has been a buyer at wholesale or sale-for-resale. As a result, I anticipate that we, as a buyer, would first get a credit check and reseller account established and then be sent either literature with prices at wholesale or be given access to the wholesale "door" of a retail web site.

So, yes, your approach, imho, works. However, I would set it up so that both retail and wholesale have log-in's and roles differentiate between the two groups.

Not sure what you want for paragraph 2. What exactly are you wanting from us?

I think you want to join and post this to this group instead -- http://groups.drupal.org/drupal-commerce

Ubercart can do some pretty great things so start looking into documentation on that http://www.ubercart.org I'm sure someone either on that site or that group will have your answer as Ubercart seemingly can do anything.
