Possible Lightning Talk
My employer is just starting to work with Open Atrium for an Client Portal project, perhaps I'll have something to talk about... Developing...
Can I ask what "coworking" is? I hate to look like an idiot but I've come to terms with it :)
not much working happens during coworking
Usually (unless urgent project deadline approaches) its time to catch up, share stories, ask questions and discuss solutions about particular problems.
Ah, so I can bring my
Ah, so I can bring my lingering Drupal conundrums for communal exorcism?
Not likely
Looks like a lightning talk is not likely - I've been pulled onto other projects, and although I'm still lead on the OA project, the jumble of thoughts in my head would make for a pretty confusion preso :)

Lightning talk
I'd like five minutes to talk about a site of mine that went live this week.
User Spam
My site (weavezine.com) is getting hit with spam-users. (aka: bots or people creating dummy accounts to post spammy links.) I've been searching on drupal.org forums, and tried some things, but haven't found a silver bullet yet.
How to deal with this kind of yuck is something I'd like to discuss, either in the co-working time or as part of the meeting.
Thanks!
Try mollom to stop the spam
I recommend-u to use mollom:
http://drupal.org/project/mollom
Is free if you have less than 100 messages or post /day.
Mollom displays a captcha if suspects that a message or post can be spam. Most legitimate post are accepted without capcha request.
You cant use also a captcha only solution like http://drupal.org/project/recaptcha or captcha http://drupal.org/project/captcha but is more anoying.
Mollom not catching these...alas
Thanks for the idea. I have used Mollom since day one, and it's wiped out all comment spam. (Hurrah!)
But a couple of weeks ago, I started getting spam-users, even though there's a Mollom Captcha on the log-in page. I don't know if it's a bot that's figured out how to beat Mollom Captcha or if it's humans who are being paid to bypass Captcha.
I looked at the email_verify module as an aid to blocking spam-users, but when I tried installing it, the login page did a wierd flashy thing on registration. I may have set it up wrong, I need to play around with it more on my test server.
Perhaps login_tobbogan would provide some protection? I'm not sure.
Anatoa?
Has anybody used the Anatoa module/service? It sounds like a great idea, create a central collaborative DB of bad actors and then ping against that before registering new users (I find that a lot of my spam users are using the same username to spam other sites.)
But it doesn't seem like anyone is using it? I wonder why? Is there another module/service out there that does something similar that everyone is using.
I love Mollom, but it only stops the bots...not human bad actors.
I've been researching and could probably give a lightning talk on "Everything I've learned about registration spam in the past two weeks." Though of course, I'd much rather cede the floor to someone whose been down this road and knows how to fix it. ;>
