I have a new job as a Drupal developer, and need to get a conference website up and running pronto. COD looks like a great solution; however, this needs to be on Drupal 7, and the installation doc (https://groups.drupal.org/node/242338) is incomplete.
I did steps 1-3, but the 4th step:
"4. Hit the site through a web browser and install Drupal and the COD features."
is ridiculously vague. None of the COD features or content types show up at this point...and the wording of this step is ambiguous.."install Drupal"? That was done in step 1...
If anyone could elucidate, I think this would be a very helpful addition to these instructions....

Problem solved
I was able to successfully install COD, after getting some IRC help in #drupal-cod.
Used the latest 7.x-1.0-alpha4 build alone (https://drupal.org/project/cod), instead of following confusing directions elsewhere (like this: https://groups.drupal.org/node/242338), I was finally able to install using the COD profile, and create my first event as part of the install step.
We are really hoping to use COD to good effect for our annual conference, like last year's, at http://wcetconference.wiche.edu, but with much more functionality.
