The Drupal Association of South Africa (DASA) is in need of a corporate identity and would like to get everyone in our creative community involved by making an open call for donated CI submissions. The CI will be used in our official documentation as well as all marketing related material.
We don’t want to be too prescriptive but here are some guidelines for the the CI. The logo should be:
- In line with to Drupal corporate identity
- Distinctly South African
- Simple ( The logo has the be embroidable, not an image)
Please note:
The submitted CI will become the property of DASA for the exclusive use by the association (No Creative Commons or similar licenses).
To submit your donation, please email to ci-submissions@dasa.org.za or post to this topic. The closing date for submissions is Tuesday 18 February 2014.
If you have any questions, please post to this topic.
We look forward to seeing your ideas.
Thank you.

Distinctly South African
The colours people tend to think of first when they design something South African are those of the flag. While I love our flag very much, those colours can be very hard and stark and tough to do design work with. Another colour scheme that I also feel is very South African is the one used in our coat of arms. Adding the Drupal blue to the coat of arms' colours may work quite nicely too.
Both are top-right of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Africa
We'll definitely need a lot of creative besides the CI too, so if you're feeling extra creative.... ;-)
For example, our own pins from 2013 was pretty plain Drupal: https://groups.drupal.org/node/302233 but look at the cool snorkelling Florida ones posted here by Mike. Pins, shirts, stickers, notepaper anything really - send through and we'll try to use it or make something of it if we can.
Perhaps worth keeping in mind that while the CI would have to be donated to DASA completely, without reservation for it to be of use, some restriction like CC or GPL may be applied to all other creative if needed.
