PotluckOne of the biggest strengths of Drupal is the ability to extend and modify its behavior with modules. There are over 8,000 Drupal 7 modules on Drupal.org (14,505 total over all versions)! All of these modules are open source and free for you to use on your Drupal site. If there is a feature you want on your site, chances are someone already wrote a module to help you implement it. The problem is, there are so many out there, it's hard to know which ones to choose.

This meeting we are having a "module potluck". We want you to come and share modules you have found that you think are really awesome, but perhaps are not so well known. Most people know about Views, CKEditor and the other most installed modules. We want to learn about some of the hidden treasures.

Come learn about some awesome modules and give back by sharing some of the awesome modules you have found! We'll give a few minutes time for each module to try to make sure we can get a good list. After the meeting, we'll post them in the comments. If you can't make it, feel free to mention your module in the comments anyway.

Thursday, February 13 7p - 9p. Room 8 Curtiss Hall, Iowa State University

LOCATION

We'll be meeting in Room 8, Curtiss Hall at Iowa State University (Google Map: http://g.co/maps/a7pzb ). Construction is now complete and the east entrance to Curtiss hall is now open. If you enter via the east door you will go all the way back, go up one level and turn right until the end of the north wing. The building is scheduled to lock at 8pm during the semester.

As always, the first hour of the meeting is open discussion/question time. If you have a question, or would like to bounce ideas around with others, please come and share!

Please do sign up so we get a good count.

See you there!

Module 'potluck'

Love this idea for a meetup and wish I could be there to hear about them all. Although I'm an Iowa native, I live in Colorado. Perhaps on my next visit back there I can make a meeting. I'd love to find a Drupal position in Iowa and move back to be close to family again.

Enough about me...here's one module I discovered last year that I now can't seem to live without: Field Collection (https://drupal.org/project/field_collection).

Hope to see more modules listed here in the comments!

Awesome list
