How-to extract and use rounded box in other themese

I really like the Acquia Marina theme but unfortunately it doesn't perfectly fit my site. I'm wondering if perhaps I can extract the bits I like and merge them into another theme. I'm expecially interested in how it creates rounded box for side blocks.

Does someone have any tips or pointers on how I might possibly extract the css/code that takes care of this and put it into another theme, something like Garland perhaps?

You need to be more

You need to be more descriptive on what you want to do.

You could definitely take parts of it and incorporate it elsewhere but is it easier to go the other way around?

What is the overall look you want to achieve?

I'd like to have the rounded

I'd like to have the rounded boxes with colored titles that marina provides in Garland.

The reasons I am not using marina itself are:

  • it doesn't play well with AF (no blame assigned here :)
  • I want a full three column layout and not a floating third column
  • for some reason my site text is much bigger using marina. That causes a lot of wrapping.
  • the width is too small, I need it to stretch out more. I think now it is optimized for 1024px?

Basically I like Garland but think it would be even better with marina's font and rounded boxes

I hope I was able to sense?

Have you considered Acquia

Have you considered Acquia Marina 2.0.

I have yet to try it out but it seems to accomplish everything you might want.

Advance Forum (I assume that is what you mean) not sure on that.
The full three columns I think should not be an issue in 2.0
The font changing the size in Marina would be easier.
Same thing with the width in 2.0

I would go with Acquia Marina and take advantage Fusion

Hope this helps.

Nice!

Thanks for the tip! Version 2.0 does take care of most of the issues I had.

I've noticed however that the rounded corners boxes are no longer present in the theme though :(

I'm not very good at CSS or theming but is it something that I could bring into 2.0 relatively easily?

You can add the moz styles to

You can add the moz styles to the borders with a fill color and get the rounded effect. Of course, Internet Explorer won't read it (but then again, nobody designs specifically for IE since it's so horrible). Other than that, you can use a predefined or custom made image for the sidebar headers.
