Florida DrupalCamp 2010 Sponsorships, Finances, and General Update

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I just wanted to give everyone a quick update on Florida DrupalCamp sponsorships and finances.

We just received 2 additional sponsorship pledges totaling $750. Thanks to Ryan for providing the contact information from his recent trip to DrupalCamp Chicago.

To date, we have $4,350 in sponsorship pledges and have received $2,798.43 in payments (this number includes the very first registrations for the camp).

Registration for the camp is now open via the official site: http://2010.fldrupalcamp.org/ - please spread the word! We're charging a token fee of $5 (mainly so we have an accurate number of attendees for planning purposes). We'll waive the fee for students and non-profit employees. To request free admission, send us a note here: http://2010.fldrupalcamp.org/contact-us

We're also looking for a suitable non-profit organization to build a site for on Day 2 of the camp, "Coding for a Cause". More information can be found here: http://2010.fldrupalcamp.org/coding-cause-application

Finally, and most importantly, we're still looking for additional volunteers to pull off a fantastic event. We're looking for people to help plan and deliver food/drinks/supplies the day of the event as well as help us with registration and "Coding for a Cause". Let us know if you can help out!

Thanks,
-mike

Just noticed that the layout breaks when browser width hits about 1890px. I think if u put a width value on the .container class it will fix that.

Also, I can help out too. Maybe you can get a task list going so people can see exactly what needs to be done.

Chairs/tables/etc costs updated on wiki

I've updated the cost estimates from Kirby on the wiki page. We need to put a deposit down on the equipment soon to make sure we will have it. Let me know what I should do.

Don,

Before we put a deposit down, we probably need to be comfortable with the number of people we expect to attend.

What does everybody else think?

registration sprint

ultimike's picture

Erik and I were just talking about DrupalCamp registrations and I suggested we do a "registration sprint" early next week to get as many people registered as possible.

This would need be a combined effort of as many people as possible to blog/tweet/post about it and blanket the Drupal community with as much information about Florida DrupalCamp as possible.

The reason I think we need to do this is that we're getting close to the time where we need to start reserving/ordering food, t-shirts, chairs, etc...

What does everyone think?
