February 2014 TC Drupal meetup

Join us for Drupal cameraderie and discussion on several topics (see full post) at the February 2014 TC Drupal meetup on Wednesday February 26th from 7-9PM at Intermedia Arts in Minneapolis.

PHP talk

Last month Chris Weber, aka cosmicdreams asked if we'd be willing to help him vet the talk he'll be presenting at the upcoming Midwest PHP Conference (March 15-16 in Mpls) -- you may have noticed the announcement on the TC Drupal g.d.o site. We've agreed to invite Chris to (perhaps informally) share his concepts with us during the first part of this month's meetup and give him feedback. Here's a modified excerpt from the session description to give you a taste:

Explores the journey Drupal has been on for the last 3 years moving to embrace the larger PHP Community. Talks about Symfony2 and related libraries. Talks about a future where a PHP developer can ramp up onto a Drupal project without specialized knowledge and get going.

TC Drupal Open House (TC D'OH!)

Last month we also alerted folks that we're planning a (free) Drupal unconference for March 1st (next Saturday). Well, it's official! Details are final and registration is open. We'll dedicate a little time at the meetup to preview the event and its format (quite a bit different from DrupalCamp Twin Cities).

Community Lab Hours 5-7PM

Don't forget we're holding Community Lab Hours from 5-7PM right before the meetup in the same location. Come work on Drupal, get some help with your questions, share your ideas, get some stuff done!

No Drupal eCommerce meetup

At last month's eCommerce meetup, the group and leader Maryann King decided that a monthly meetup is too frequent and collides with the other community gatherings. It's been decided to fold eCommerce topics into the main meetup on a semi-regular basis (perhaps quarterly) to increase value and attendance.

Special sauce

Yep, bring beverages to share to expand everyone's list of favorites. Pizza will make a mid-meeting appearance. As always, there'll be plenty of time to enjoy said refreshments while networking, socializing, talking about whatever there is to talk about.
