Not Quite West Virginia Based
I'm more of a nomad at the moment and I'm getting ready for another move although I haven't settled on the destination quite yet. On the other hand, I have been working on custom themed drupal sites for about a year now, and I'm interested in any kind of drupal developer network that may be getting started here. If you are interested in any help at Mind Merge, definitely let me know! Good luck with the group, I'll be checking back soon.
Great
Holland,
I've been playing with Drupal for a few weeks now and I am amazed how powerful it is. You can pretty much build any Web site you want with this. I really want to become really good at it. I may ask you some questions if I get stuck.
Just a thought
I'm not sure what functionality you are looking for in particular, but generally speaking, I think the most powerful combination is CCKs and Views. You can make templates for all of your views and strip out all of the extra junk code, which leaves you with a nice clean output for styling. I'm no drupal ninja, and I've had a lot of help along the way, but custom content types and views seem to get the job done 90% of the time.
West Virginia: sometimes home
Family center has moved to near Charleston, West Virginia with my brothers and their people, i am and will be there a bit. With Agaric (mostly Massachusetts-based) i build web sites of all sorts and contribute some modules back to drupal.org... no themes yet. Also we host meetups, do training, and are helping write a big Drupal 7 book.

Country Roads
Hey all. I currently don't live in West Virginia anymore, but was born and raised there for 20 years. I design, theme, and developer small to large Drupal sites. Anywhere from static information sites to dynamic sites with 10,000+ users. I specialize in doing front-end and Drupal developement, configuration and administration work including contributed modules, but haven't written any full custom modules yet. I've done simple theme overrides and the sorts. I do I have to agree with hollanddots. CCK and Views will make your life so much easier. Throw in some Panels3 and you might just be set. Currently working on re-submitting the Wabi theme that will be table-less and semantic. Glad to see Drupal has made it's way to West Virginia. If anyone ever needs a hand with work or problems, don't hesitate to drop me a note.

Thanks for the post. I am sorry it took me more than a month to reply. Been pretty busy lately. I am trying to see if there are more Drupal users around this area but so far it seems I am the only one which kind of sucks because it is always good to have people around who can give you advise when you are stuck. Keep in tousch. I would be interested in seeing some of your work. any links you want to share?
Some of my work
You can see some of my work at http://rjgoldsborough.com (I'm currently redesigning so keep checking back)
