How to build a good user profile page like Orkut or Hi5

hi

i am looking for advice on how to create a good user profile page like Orkut etc, which will have the picture of the person..his friends pictuers and his communities and other posts etc..

has anyone doene this ?

can u share..on how this can be done?

also another feature is to have a large picture in the user page and a small one for the posts..thanks

The method for 5.x Drupal by Michelle is excellent

For less adept webmasters or web owners, I believe the userprofile.tpl.php (User Custom Profile template) is a good start to try without having to obtain all or most of the `support modules' like Michelle's

Now I dont have PHP knowledge at all, but I at least can recognize the error messages output if Drupal cannot read the PHP scripts inside userprofile.tpl.php

For example, I could not enlist the buddylist and buddy pictures inside user profile, so I just by trial and error to tweak it

This method is described in Drupal handbook `Customizing user profile layout'

I just put them together, and also some snippets from Drupal users like how to put the `recent images' in a block instead of inside

*This method uses the default profile.module and doesnt require modification of core

*You will also need template.php
