Sprint

Awesome Drupal progress happened last week with Drupal Developer Days Szeged.

That's still no reason to rest and the next First Friday Contrib Sprint is coming up again!

Friday April 4th we will meet again to push Contrib Modules for Drupal 8. Yes, it's this friday already! Again...

Some updated infos (from 12. march) are again available on This Week in Drupal Core. Sure, we are eagerly awaiting a new update.

There's activity on almost every single aspect of Drupal. If maintainers didn't start yet on their own, you can almost be sure that someone started working on it. Some projects are huge initiatives that will take months to finish. Others are almost finished and need polishing only. You can pick the perfect match for you.

This is a global initiative: Mobilize the Drupal companies in your area, get together, and create some great Drupal 8 modules.

You are welcome to join our team in the MD Systems office - we will help you to get started.

We are currently pushing ports of modules like Redirect, Global Redirect, Pathauto
and polishing work from previous ports like Monitoring, TMGMT, Mailsystem, Sharemessage.

BYOM: Bring Your Own Module! ;-)

Finally there is a new update from "This Week in Drupal Core" - mainly about progress from the Drupal Developer Days in Szeged.
https://groups.drupal.org/node/417273

We started pushing the modules Redirect und Global Redirect.

Antonio Sferlazza (tonnosf, Südostschweiz Medien) started with Pathauto and will join us to push the module port tomorrow.

Christophe Galli (cgalli) will join us with his Drupal Core content entity example.

We are looking forward to supporting you with your personal Core / Contrib initiative during this Sprint.

See you!

Redis for Drupal 8

I was sprinting from home today. I've started to port Redis to Drupal 8 in order to explore how the changes of the Cache API influence contrib cache backends (especially cache tags).

I'm now at a point where data is showing up in Redis (when using PhpRedis). Hope to continue the work soon.

Awesome results

That's awesome news, znerol. Berdir also managed to jump into someting completely new (Port of Ultimate Cron) with great progress, too...
Finally, we where able to "complete" work on Redirect / Global Redirect and Antonio got to speed with with Pathauto.
