The next DrupalACT meeting will be held at 6pm on Wednesday, 21st May 2014. Come along to meet other Drupal people, share your skills and experience, and maybe learn something new!
Adam Malone from Acquia and Josh Li from Datacom will be presenting a workshop on porting basic modules to Drupal 8. Porting the existing Drupal 7 version of Login Redirect, the workshop will demonstrate some of the API changes and new code structures. Following these examples will make it easier to get up to speed quickly on contrib development as it stands currently with Drupal 8.
With API freeze in effect and an 8.x beta on the horizon, getting familiar with the new Drupal way present in 8.x will allow you to hit the ground running with contrib modules that don’t have a port yet.
Similar to previous meetups, pizza and drinks will be provided and there will be drinks afterwards so if you don’t get a chance to ask questions at the session, there’ll be plenty of time to talk at the pub afterwards.
When: The workshop will start at 6.15pm, Arrive at 6pm to talk/meet up. Wednesday, 21st May 2014 (please be on time)
