Just wondering what the latest thoughts are on whether to use the User Relationship module or the FriendList module.
I found this page: http://groups.drupal.org/node/14625
but that made me feel a little like 1) User Relationship is older 2) User Relationship is better 3) Some things may not have been evaluated such as "current community support", supported hooks, etc.
Any thoughts?

FriendList hasn't been
FriendList hasn't been maintained in over 7 months. I'd avoid it, unfortunately.
User relationships
Last I checked, UR had 3 times the userbase as FL and, as the previous poster mentioned, FL isn't being maintained. FL came along and duplicated UR because the author thought he could do it better and then he didn't follow through.

I have to say, when I originally researched this topic (including BuddyList), I got so confused about functionality and support, that I just walked away from even trying to have a friend/relationships feature on my Drupal site. This is one of the places where Drupal could benefit from having a definitive/recommended module!
I'll be interested to hear from others whether they think User Relationships could be the definitive for friending/relationships in Drupal!
