I have recently installed OA 'out of the box' and have setup groups, users, permission, etc.
For some reason the 'shout box' is not appearing/operable. The only place it is evident is in the 'customize layout' screen. What have I not installed right?
Also, in looking for a strand on this problem I came across the new 'Chat room' module that has been created. I realize these are two different functions/tools, but am wondering how/if people are using the chat room within the OA UI, or outside of it? I would love to be able to open new chats with co-workers directly from our OA home page.

you must enable shoutbox
Hi Nick-
I was a little confused about that at first too. Shoutbox is not enabled by default. You must create a group, then inside that group click on "Settings". Choose "Customize Features". Here you can enable (change to public/private) the shoutbox.
I haven't tried installing the chat feature, but shoutbox works fine for our needs.
