hi all,
had to register a new username (old one was pescobar) to finally login here after the SSO merge
was wondering what the group thought of hosting the next meet-up at the Chronicle Herald in one of the conference rooms?
i started working at the Herald last sept. as a drupal dev and they've really bought into the platform
there is at least one other group member also employed here (username deepr) and he and i started talking about the possibility of hosting meet-ups here in a conference room
i then approached my boss about it and she thought it was a great idea
so here is what the Herald could provide as a venue:
- conference room with wifi access
- laptop hookup to a large presentation screen
- refreshments/snacks (pizza/chips/soft drinks...)
the Herald building is located at:

am thinking that maybe jan 25th or jan 27th starting at 7ish might be a good time for the next meeting?
what do you guys/gals think?
jason

That is awesome! Great to hear that the Chronicle Herald is embracing Drupal. I'm still going through hurdles trying to get my enterprise to buy in, but starting to see the finish line.

Great to hear about the pizza...I mean a meeting spot...I may be out of town but if not, Jan 27th would work best for me.

agenda
hey folks,
had a good q asking whether to bring laptops or not
yes, bring a laptop if you like
as for an agenda... was thinking that i'd spend maybe 15 mins talking about what the herald is currently doing with drupal and what is has planned for the near future
and then it'll be open for whatever discussion/topics people have an interest in
we could also have a show/tell highlighting cool local-built drupal sites
my focus areas right now are:

see you all tonight. if there's time, I've got one of the early beta invites for Drupal gardens so may be something to look at.
Thanks
Great meeting last night! Big thanks to the Chronicle Herald guys for setting it up and hosting! It was nice to put some faces to names and learn what everyone was doing with Drupal.
As we sort of discussed last night I would be up for monthly informal meetings(I think everyone agreed beer is a requirement) and possibly quarterly meetings with a bit more of a schedule. What does everyone think?
Also as I mentioned last night I am trying to get a general PHP users group off the ground, which their will definitely be some overlap. If you would like to sign up there, here's the url - http://groups.google.com/group/halifax-ns-php-developers-group
