Looking for a Drupal Mentor/Assistant
Hello! I'm new to the world of Drupal. Although I want to do most of the work myself, I am looking for someone I can turn to when I hit the eventual snags in this project. I would prefer someone in the Madison area. Although Drupal seems to have an excellent community, I am willing to pay someone as needed for advice, assistance, and problem solving who lives in this my area.
I want to create a music website called, High Soundz. This program would be used to connect local music scenes around the country (USA) and some other places. I am borrowing from other business models to create something that helps local scenes be better connected. My philosophy is, it should not be so hard to find new good band to see. I'm in my 30's now, which means I'm sort of not "with it" anymore (the kid helped with that ascent into lameness). But, I'd like to know I'm not wasting money by going to see a local band at the Frequency or High Noon when I'm free. I don't want to depend on a bands "friends" to find out what is cool. I also want to be able to go to another city and find a hot new local act or cool venue without a lot of hassle (it was difficult last time when I went to Chicago). There are tools out there. But, there's a lot of searching involved and I think I can create something better. Essentially, I would like to create a "magnifying glass" for local music. This also would be an EXCELLENT tool for bands/DJs and venues to self-promote. I also feel that there are many opportunities to generate ad revenue by compartmentalizing local music scenes.
With that being said, I want High Soundz to be a website, mobile website, app, and possibly a Facebook app. I don't know if this is idea is viable, so this is a business model test. I want to create a minimum viable product and see if people like it. If its not a feasible business model, hopefully I have enough experience by the end of this to start working on websites for others. I do have limited HTML, PHP, MySQL, and Dreamweaver experience. But, this would be a whole other ballgame.
Contact me and I will share the initial features I would like to see, we can set up a work flow, and we can talk pay. As I said, it would be as needed.
