Apache 2.4 plus php-fpm

Apologies, not coming any more, got dropped in it, working every hour god sends :(
who would be a developer eh?? :(:(:(:(

I am comming :)

Interested to talk about running Drupal sites on Apache 2.4 with PHP-FPM, I have a personal D8 site a bunch of reasonably high traffic D6 sites for a client running on that config very successfully.

Should a blog post about it up by Wednesday, also interested to talk and compare notes with anybody running on the more conventional NGINX plus PHP-FPM set up.

I may have had the chance to trial switching the config and testing against HHVM by Wednesday also (fingers crossed).

Nginx and HHVM

Nginx and HHVM work together quite nicely, although the HHVM service does seem to stop randomly from time to time. May need to have a supervisor process running to keep it alive.

Definitely not tested in production.

I can't make this one sorry,

I can't make this one sorry, but I'll try to make the next one!

I'm interesting in hearing

I'm interesting in hearing more about this magical HHVM and also ngnix with PHP-FPM. I recently took ngnix for a spin with mixed results...

I'll be there

I'll be there.

It's a shame you can't make it now Chris (clients, who'd have em?), I was looking forward to hearing your HHVM experiences.

I've tried it briefly, but never found it particularly reliable with Drupal.

I will blog about it soon

I will blog about it soon and put a post up.

I think I have a site that gets a reasonable amount of traffic (but is not too critical) and that I get permission to switch over to HHVM for a period this weekend.

Has a fair amount of monitoring on it, I am quite excited at the prospect :) (this is probably a bit sad).

I seem to have waded through most of my unexpectedly high workload now.

not very reliable still it seems

My testing is coming to the conclusion that not very reliable yet too.

Tried latest stable 3.3.0 and latest dev.

Using via fast-cgi as direct drop in replacement for php-fpm the daemon has a habit of randomly and quietly dying when under high load (particularly once the cpu/s are maxed out).

Going to keep an eye on it though, for un-cached pages it is very much faster (which gave me a warm fuzzy feeling until the intermittent crashes).

Can't make tonight

Apologies for the last minute bail but have developed a headache I can't shift :(

See you at con or the October meetup....
