Presentation
Contributing to any open source project can be intimidating, but particularly so with a project as large and successful as Drupal. It is because of this success that the Drupal community needs more contributors like you. How can you get over the hump of intimidation and help with the project?
This session will focus on the issue queue and how to use it. Most importantly, we will teach you how to find issues you can work on. We will also cover the following:
- Tools needed to generate patches
- Uploading and testing your patch
- Testing and reviewing others’ patches
- Mentoring & The Drupal Ladder

About The Speaker
Chris grew up in Western Mass, completed his undergrad in Computer Science at Providence College, worked a couple jobs, then went off for his Masters in Technology Education at Appalachian State University. His first Drupal site was for a department at Harvard and used Drupal 4.7 (around 2005?) and he never looked back.
Redfin Solutions started out as four guys moonlighting, but it also helped Chris through Grad School, and when that was all done (around 2009) Redfin Solutions ramped up to full time development solution. Although still geographically dispersed, Redfin Solutions calls Portland, Maine home and intend to stick around a while.
