Google released their Google Summer of Code 2015 presentation:
Overall web page:

PDF version of the slides:

I know one of the things I had talked about was putting together a talk for DrupalCamps and meetups that mentors could give about Drupal Summer of Code to get more involvement from the community.
Any thoughts on this one? I don't think Texas is having a DrupalCamp for a while.

Great idea!
Jeff, this is a great idea. We have students, mentors, and alumni in cities throughout the world. Do we have any volunteers to present? I can give it a try at a few events in my area.
Going back to the GCI student task idea...maybe a student can utilize Google's presentation and create a Drupal specific version as a task in Code-In 2014?
Google Code In Task - Definitely works
Also another task for students might be to localize the presentation into their language - I think that would also be really useful given the international nature of GSoC.
I'm happy to talk to the Drupal Austin meetup, if I can make a meeting.
