Hi,

I am running two BOA hosting systems on Linode.com, and they both have same problems for the last many versions I have installed since frequent upgrades have been made available.

Problem:

  • Site installs never get completed and they get stuck mostly at following stage:
WD install: Installing from database import.
(I am attaching log in a separate file here.)

  • When I try to click view button and see the progress of any task, many time I see my
http://o1.server.myBOAhosting.com put offline and it shows the following:

The site is currently not available due to technical problems. Please try again later. Thank you for your understanding.

If you are the maintainer of this site, please check your database settings in the settings.php file and ensure that your hosting provider's database server is running. For more help, see the handbook, or contact your hosting provider.

I keep my hosting systems update to latest version in a hope that new version might solve the issue. Currently I am running BOA-2.3.5 Full Edition.

Please help.

Best regards,

Have you tried to execute similar using drush on command line? It is often useful to run same/similar commands with -v -flag to see what is failing.

Can you please elaborate on

Can you please elaborate on what type of commands I should execute?
Being root user I cannot execute Drush commands, while being site own/client (e.g: o1.oneclient) I am have limited number of commands to execute.
I am not aware of any power user of Aegir hosting which has full Drush command rights on all platforms and all sites.
Please help. Also thanks for your response :)

If you have root access you

If you have root access you can try to run Drush commands in failed verifications/migrations log (see View-link in task list). You should be able to execute them as o1-user.(assuming you have default users o1 and o1.ftp). Switch to o1 with $ su -s /bin/bash o1
Aegir executes drush as o1.
