Each user has own store?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Am I crazy or do I seem to remember that the ability exists within E-commerce for each user to have their own store? I've scoured the settings and d.o but can't find anything. Is this feature still available?

coming someday?

I'm working on a module like that right now actually.
We were unable to find an existing module to provide the functionality you seek.

We're building in Drupal 5.1 with EC v3.

While it's not yet ready for prime time, I do plan to release the module back to the community. I don't know what your time-frame is like but we'll have a live site in a couple weeks. From there I'll have to clean up code, genericize things that are currently proprietary to our site, and release the code. It'll probably be August before a stable public release is available as I'm getting paid for the site work but not the public release of the module.

Contact me directly if you'd like a tour of what we're doing. It's part EC integration, part custom module stuff.

me too

I am also writing a module like this for drupal 5.1 and ec v3
I am modifying the userpoints ec module to allow each organic group to have a store view.

when a producted is added to a cart from a group store view, the owner of the organic group gets a % cut, the product author gets another % cut and the owner of the entire system gets a % cut.

the cuts are recorded as userpoints and the checks are cut monthly based on the total points as if they were currency.

as a bonus the userpoints ec module already allows these points to be re-used as currency in the stores...

how is your module similar and/or different? it is not possible to contact you directly via this site.

Multiple stores and pricing

I am interested in your project for multiple stores in 5.1 with ECv3. How is it coming along?

We are working on a multisite/store configuration and would like members to have control over own products, with control over role, user, and taxonomy based pricing in the community stores. Hard to explain. So if you created a product, you determine which roles can access it, exclude specific users, products, and what other users/roles edit.

Would you be interested in working on this for $

Let's get it rolling. :)

dwensley,
I'm pretty sure we're already talking about this together.. If not, drop me a line: http://drupal.org/user/50195/contact

Thanks for the offer, I may

Thanks for the offer, I may take you up on taking a peek at that code.

But really I'm just wondering if I'm losing my mind here, because I could swear that was one of the reasons I was excited about E-Commerce when I looked at the module for something else last year, and I even found a blog post reviewing the module that mentioned the ability for each user to have their own store. Odd.

Just found another reference

Just found another reference to this on the mailing list too: http://lists.heydon.com.au/htdig.cgi/ecommerce-heydon.com.au/2007-March/...

"The stores module has user based stores"

Was this only in a previous version of the module?

I've tried enabling permissions for administering stores, products, etc. for users, but it doesn't seem to indicate anything about a user's own store, just gives them access to administer the main site store.

Still curious on this issue.

Still curious on this issue. Anything interesting to report about these modules in development? I also found this issue: http://drupal.org/node/156460

my report

We finished up a custom module that worked for a very specific set of criteria.
I released it as ec_mvmg. I doubt, highly, that anyone will find it more useful than a quick glance. It ended up being mostly custom code.
