I have created a intranet using Open Atrium 2 and having some problems with the menu structure. So far I have created 1 space with 6 sections under it. While creating documents under the section the menu option does not allow me to use the section pages as the parent. I only see the Group Menu. I would like to have a section menu that is expandible with child pages. Am I missing something in the structure.

You also need to create a menu link for the section page. This one you put under the Group Menu, then you can select any page to be a child of the menu link to the section page

Please note that menus are just a structure that you can use in any way you want. For example, you might have 6 sections, but choose to have for example only 2 menu items to which you can add some of the child pages. This is in fact very practical, because for example in a group where you have internal and public sections for the same type of content you can still have a single menu entry where you put all of them. For example:

Sections:

  • Documents internal
    • Contacts
    • Applications
  • Documents public
    • Annual report
    • Principles of the organization

Menu:

  • Documents:
    • Contacts
    • Applications
    • Annual report
    • Principles of the organization

The items will automatically appear or not depending on whether the visiting user has permissions to each of the pages (given by the sections to which they belong)

Also, please note that to have some expandible drop-down on the menu bar, you probably need to install some additional module, dhtml menu or so (as far as I know OA does not support this out-of-the-box)

Thank you. For some reason I had all my sections under the Main Menu.
