We will be hosting another Maryland Drupal meetup at PMG's office in Columbia. PMG will once again be providing access to their breakroom which includes a projector, screen, whiteboards, and wifi. If you're interested in learning or showing how to 'do it with Drupal' this is the place, presenters and presentation information will be listed soon.
Plan on arriving for the meetup around 7 with the meetup officially starting with presentations/talks at 7:30. We are currently looking for presenters for this meetup and upcoming ones so please let me know if you have some thing to share. Talks could be about how you are currently using Drupal, what cool module you are building for Drupal, or any other Drupal related stuff! If you are interested in presenting, let us know in the comments below or just come prepared to the meetup to talk.
Important: If for some reason you are not able to get into the building, please call 410 290 0667 and we will let you in.

Dinner anyone?
I'll be having dinner before the meeting if anyone would like to join me. My default selection is Fuddrucker's, but am open to other ideas at a similar price range (~$10)
Dinner
Hey, I'm planning on attending but I don't eat meat (I'm a vegan), so Indian or Thai or Mexican would be more up my alley, if you're interested. Thoughts?
Dinner
I'm open to ideas, but I am fairly price-sensitive - I really need to be able to keep dinner around $10 (give or take a dollar or two)
Also, I'm not from the area (I live in PA), so I don't have any suggestions. If you know someplace suitable, let me know.
Dinner
There's a Pei Wei Asian Diner next door to the Fuddruckers. Every dish has a vegetable/tofu option, is under $10, and is quite delicious.
Dinner before meeting
I am brand new here, I am plan to make the meeting. I am in need of Drupal help and advice (developing a site for a small international organization). I would be interested in a cheap dinner before the meeting. This Pei Wei sound interesting. What time? and Where is the PeiWei? the link does not seem to lead anywhere.
Britt
Dinner
The link is pointing to the wrong url. It's http://www.peiwei.com The map on the web site should get you to the right location. (It's right off of Dobbin Rd off of 175 if my memory serves me correctly.
I'm going to be in that area somewhere around 5 - 5:15
Dinner
The Pei Wei would work for me.
New to the Drupal Meetup's
I'm new here and wanted to make sure that I was among the "intended audience" for this meetup. I have played with PHP, but am not a developer. I have been messing with Drupal for about 6 months now and can't get enough when it comes to learning more about it...so I figured this was my next milestone.
Absolutely. We had many skill
Absolutely. We had many skill levels at the last meetup. This is for anyone with an interest in talking about Drupal, and we welcome newcomers.
Great
Great! I plan on being there then. I'm not sure if I will make dinner, but do want to back you on Pei Wei. For those that don't know, they are owned by the same parent company as P.F. Chang's, and have the same food, but it's cheaper because you aren't paying for the ambiance.
Of course you are part of the intended audience.
In general Drupal meetups are open to all levels of experience and all backgrounds, so come on down! I can confidently say this having never actually been to the MD meetup before. :)

New to the group
I will echo the sentiments of the others here. Last month was my first meeting, and I felt very welcomed to the group.
First Time for Everything...
I haven't been to an MD meetup before, but often make the DC and NOVA groups. I've been meaning to get up to MD...and the Pei Mei cinches the deal. See you all there.

Dinner at Pei Wei - 6:15
Ron and I plan to be at Pei Wei around 6:15. Let us know if you plan on joining us if you haven't commented already.
Pei Wei is located in Dobbin Corner. If you are facing the Fuddrucker's from Dobbin Rd, there is a little road to the left of Fuddrucker's, and you drive down that to get to the parking lot - Pei Wei is at the far end in the parking lot from where you drive in.
It's not a reservations sort of place, but we'll do our best to sit together.
Look forward to seeing you all at the restaurant or the meetup.
I love Pei Wei and other important items
Big thanks for Ron for helping me out this month.
I will try to make it over to see you guys there but if not enjoy some potstickers or dynamite chicken for me!
A couple of quick tips when coming to PMG for the meetup:
If any of you have any problems whatsoever, just call the office or my mobile at 202-288-9736.
Thanks!

Brand new to the group
HI,
I am totally new to Drupal and would like to hear more about it. I have no experience but my friend told me about it and got me interested.
thanks,
Arturo
Mentioned at meetup: DB ER diagram for drupal6
Couldn't find the "official" drupal6 ER diagram but found one on someone's website. Could make a similar diagram with an ER tool that supports diagrams. Useful for quickly getting a sense of where things are stored.

Thanks Daniel - this helps - I can't see the detailed tables file but the overview tables I enlarged it with fireworks and it is pretty clear.

It was great that several of you wanted to keep in touch - next time I'll have cards!
Thanks for all the comments on my demonstration of a custom drupal shell for content. Please keep in touch if you're interested in using or working on this, and I'll bring you into the fold when I set up the project.

Blog post about meetup
My colleague Jerad at Rapid Waters Development (for whom I do contract Drupal work) asked me to blog about tonights meetup, which I have done here:

If I got any names or information wrong just let me know. I probably missed some great stuff, but hopefully the post will be of use.

Great to meet all of you!
My review of my first Drupal Meetup ever is very positive. There was a good mix of different skill levels and expertise, and the atmosphere was such that everyone was easily able to share their views. I'm looking forward to the next one, and maybe next time I can make it for dinner.
Thanks for all of the feedback
Thank you for all of your feedback on the mthtrains.com website. We will be implementing several of the suggestions (Boost, apc) and look into alternative methods of theme control.
Thanks Again
Mike
Thank you
I learned so much last night. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Being a novice I really didn't know what to expect. But I can say I really enjoyed it.
thanks,
Arturo
