Completely Unscientific, Unofficial Florida DrupalCamp Survey

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

As an ice-breaker and just for fun, we decided to put up a Quiz at our booth at the 2015 Florida DrupalCamp. It was made to be fun, simple and provide a quick means of interaction as well as checking off one's accomplishments. Points were assigned to accomplishments with more advanced items being weighted with higher points. We used weighted results to classify survey takers into Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced groups. This was not done according to any standard but just roughly taking some random questions and generally categorizing them. Bonus points were given to sci-fi fans. :-)

Since the FLDC tracks are roughly categorized into Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced (or at least more advanced topics listed as Intermediate), we used survey results to help suggest some appropriate sessions to attend.

This was all kind of cool and dandy but then we realized we might have some interesting data to share. However, the quiz was not administered scientifically and depended greatly on survey-taker motivations, i.e. more advanced or busy people may not have bothered to take the quiz or to even visit the booths, etc. But here are some tidbits:

There were 16 respondents (14 anonymous, 2 authenticated of our own staff):

31.25% responded with answers that classified them as Beginners
18.75% responded with answers that classified them as Intermediate
50% responded with answers that classified them as Advanced or upper Intermediate

The survey is still online at http://boostdfm.com/quiz/how-drupaly-are-you. Will leave permissions open for anonymous to view results so if anybody wants to push for a more complete survey of attendees, the results will be available.

I should point out that we classified scores via the following determination:

0%-33% = Beginner
34%-67% = Intermediate
68%-100% = Advanced

@DigitalFrontier it was a fun

@DigitalFrontier it was a fun survey. I am surprised there was only 16 respondents out of the almost 300 attendees. Thank you for putting up the data!

I'm advanced! Total surprise.
