User Relationships Module and Privacy Settings?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

hi,

I'm building a drupal page with some community functions like users can have their own profile (content_profile module) and they can upload images to galleries they create on their own.

I'm using the User Relationships Module to let users become "friends". This module has some access control functions to set permissions to who can view, edit and/or delete content that belongs to a user.

But that's not what I need. I need a control mechanism to give users the ability to alter the privacy settings of their own content. I need something like this: for example a user fills out his profile information but wants only his "Friends" to be able to see them. Or a user creates a image gallery and uploads images to this gallery. Then the user should be able to choose who can see this gallery and who not.

There need to be options like
- "No One": this option makes the content only accessible to the creator, no one else can see this particular content
- "Only Friends": if this is selected, only friends of an user are able to see the content, everyone else can't
- "Everyone": regardless if your a friend or not you'll have access to see, comment or whatever to the content

Since profile information and image galleries are stored as node, every node needs to have this privacy settings.

Is this something I could achive with the "Node Access Control Module"?

Thanks for any help :-)

Greets.

Hey Guys,

after searching the whole freakin' net I've found something very good:

CCK Private Fields (http://drupal.org/project/cck_private_fields).

Works very well with Content Profile but unfortunatelly I can't use it for my image galleries. Until now I create image galleries as descripted in this Video Tutorial http://www.lullabot.com/articles/photo-galleries-views-attach. With CCK Private Fields I'm not able to set privacy to a whole gallery. It works only for several content fields.

Maybe some one can help me on with this one?

Greets.

Thank you... thank you...
