As a Drupal developer at CHIEF in Dupont Circle, you’ll perform complex Drupal site building, create custom modules, script automated migrations, and troubleshoot development challenges. You’ll work with our team of developers, designers, UXers, strategists, and project managers to develop and maintain Drupal websites.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform site-building activities, including creating and modifying views, contexts, and blocks in order to match functionality specified in wireframes and designs
  • Develop and customize custom modules for Drupal 7
  • Develop migration scripts, both for scraping and migrating content from static websites and for migrating from database to database
  • Evaluate designs, wireframes, and other deliverables during the design and user experience phase for potential development issues
  • Conduct peer review of code created by other developers
  • Clearly communicate the intricacies of complex web development issues, acting as a subject matter expert both internally across departments and externally with clients
  • Install, test, and debug contributed modules
  • Prototype functionality for internal and client review

Skills Required:

  • Expert knowledge of Drupal, PHP, and MySQL
  • Expert site building skills in Drupal 7
  • Experience with Drush
  • Experience with Git version control
  • Familiarity with server-side and browser scripting
  • Past experience with Drupal front-end development and configuration
  • Ability to estimate time and level of effort accurately for Drupal development tasks
  • Experience working in a fast-paced team environment

Skills Preferred:

  • Basic understanding of accessibility best practices, Section 508 compliance, and/or WCAG 2.0 standards
  • Experience with WordPress
  • Excellent communication skills

Additional Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years professional web development experience
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and be able to prioritize appropriately
  • U.S. citizenship
