Hi everyone, would like to start Drupal meet ups in New Orleans

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I think it would be great if we could begin to create a Drupal presence in New Orleans. I know it would help me to meet other like minded people. Please let me and other members know if you're interested by commenting here. I'm tired of seeing all the other cities have all the fun and Louisiana becomes a digital backwater.

I think Loyala is a Drupal shop (judging from job posting last summer here). I emailed them and volunteered as intern there (need to improve my Drupal skills) and never even heard back.

Looking for contract Drupal jobs, installation, conversion static sites, trouble shooting, maintenance etc Have a couple years of Drupal under my belt.

I work in Baton Rouge and my co-worker in Hammond. I think that we would both be interested in a New Orleans meetup during the weekend.

Hello!!

I'm interesting!! I've been working with drupal since the version 4.6. I live on the northshore in Madisonville and also I have a 10 month old baby which makes difficult for me to drive to NO every week maybe we can do one week on this side and another week in NO.
Let me know.

Thnx for response

If you know of others please give them this link. I think a meeting every week might be too much. Week end meeting would be fine with me. If there are only a few of us we could do it at my apt. complex - The Saulet -lower Garden near freeway and convention center. We have business meeting room we could use in office center.
If we can get active core group of say 5 to 7 of us we can probably get this started right.

I'll be checking here daily and feel free to pm me too.

Hey I would love to join a Drupal meetup in New Orleans. I'm marked as "interested" in Drupal on meetup.com. Just let me know when and where and I'll be there.

Anybody getting paid for Drupal work? As I mentioned I think Loyola University has Drupal - need to contact them see if interested in coming to meetings.

I have several Drupal sites running

Yes. I get paid for Drupal Sites. Here are some that are running in the New Orleans Area, that I created since DrupalCon DC:

I have been dealing with the learning curve over the past year. Some are better than others in performance, mainly to do with shared hosting platforms. Has any meetings taken place? I would love to see the community grow and could use some help developing sites!

Hello,

I am a Drupal developer and just attended my 2nd DrupalCon. And now would love to get these meetups going. I am from the New Orleans Area, and have several live Drupal sites running.

Anyone interested?

Let's set up meeting in New Orleans

I wanted to wake this thread up again. We can meet at my apt complex here in New Orleans has meeting rooms available, free wi-fi. We're located in lower Garden District at Saulet on 1450 Annunciation (check Google Maps) . Weekend might be good time. Drop me a line here when you would like to meet, agenda ideas, areas of interest. I will collate and forward to all interested. Also email me if you want.
I am looking at Drupal and iPhone(trying to get up to speed with Obj-C), always looking at new modules, play with everything which has drawback in that nothing real gets finished very fast.
Let me know what you all think. Let's put New Orleans on Drupal map or at very least give ourselves an opportunity to network generate business ideas, pool knowledge and have fun.
