What a privileged to be part of the Drupal Community!

On Friday the 28th of August we launched the Pretoria/Centurion Meetup. We were amazed by the amount of Drupalists that joined us on the month-end Friday!

The Drupal Assosiation of South Africa (DASA) has a vision:

Within the next five years, DASA will maintain and support vigorous and growing Drupal Communities in the major centres. DASA will have developed and cultivated a desire within Business, Government and Institutions of Learning for knowledge of the superior functionality and security features in Drupal. Five years thereafter, DASA will host the first DrupalCon on the African continent.

The hosting of user group meetups in different geographical locations is the fundamental starting block in realising this vision!

The evening started by a short introduction of all attendees following a interesting and informative talk by Lancelot about effective queuing in Drupal. We then had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss interesting technologies that we came across recently, and of course show off some of our work!

We would like to thank Yonder Media for being our generous hosts for the evening and snacks and beverages to all the hungry attendees!

Thank you to every Johannesburger for coming through to offer knowledge and advice, your contributions are invaluable to the community at large as well as to all the people this side of the river :)

We would like to invite everyone that are interested in seeing what the meetup is about, or would like broaden their Drupal skills to join us on the 8th of October at Yonder Media for the next Drupal Pretoria Meetup.

Please see http://www.meetup.com/Drupal-Pretoria/ for all the details and to RSVP.

Viva the Drupal Community!

See you all soon!
