Roller derby season is upon us, which means conflicts for me on Thursdays again.

For those interested in the derby thing, here are some talking points for happy hour:

-- First bout of Season 12 is on Saturday!
-- Our All-Stars team won the necessary semi-final bouts this past weekend to compete in the 2015 International WFTDA Championships!!
-- WE are hosting 2015 International WFTDA Championships here in St. Paul--Nov. 6-8!!!

Drupal 8 Release Candidate #1

I know that everyone is disappointed that Kendra won't be able to attend happy hour tonight!

:-(

But, consider whether or not the release of drupal 8.0.0-rc1 might at least partially offset that disappointment and give us all reason to carry on...... Rumor has it, some folks even plan on celebrating a little tonight (anxious to see what that means).

Here are some questions that I'm thinking about today and will be looking for answers to at Happy Hour tonight:

1) What exactly is a release candidate?
I know that life is better with drupal 8.0.0-rc1 in it, but exactly why is that?

2) How much longer until we get a clean official release of Drupal 8?

3) If I were to brew a beer commemorating Drupal 8 - what kind of beer would it be?

4) If I were to make a wood fired pizza commemorating Drupal 8 - what would I put on it?
(and do any of us know a pizza artist that might bake said pizza?)

5) When will we be having and what will we be doing at the official
Twin Cities Drupal - Drupal 8 release party?
(Is there any chance that Roller Derby will be involved?)
