Drupal 8 Play Date (Nov. 7th)

Our first Drupal 8 Play Date went so well, we've scheduled another (and are considering even more, if there is sufficient interest).

November 7th will mark the one-month anniversary of the first official Release Candidate for Drupal 8.

It's time to start experimenting with Drupal 8, porting modules, and finding bugs that need to be fixed before the official release.

This will be a great opportunity for beginners and advanced coders alike to get an introduction to Drupal 8 and start setting up a site of their own.

Anyone can spin up a Drupal 8 sandbox using one of several free hosting platforms and begin to play around.

TEN7 has agreed to host us again and provide lunch.

Those spots are accessible only from 2nd St, between the Soltva and Solhavn apartment buildings.

There is also ample metered street parking. The side streets southwest of Washington Avenue are typically only 25 cents per hour. Avoid the large parking lot on Washington Avenue, since that is all reserved parking.

TIME:

• A brief intro to Drupal 8 (informal presentation)
• Small groups working together to explore and test Drupal 8
• Ad hoc - presentations and demos (as folks are inspired to share what they know)
• Show and Tell - Anyone can share what they have been learning on their own.
• Drupal 8 Migrate (testing / experimentation / learning)
