Anyone out west?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Just curious if there's anyone out here on the Western side of the state. I'm near La Crosse and don't know any other Drupal peeps here.

Well, there's me

I live and work a little south of Menomonie. I run a slightly struggling consulting company. Nice to know I'm not the ONLY one on this side of the state.

There's a VERY active Drupal community in Minneapolis/St. Paul, but that's much more of a trek for you than for me

Keep in touch.

Bit far

Looks like you're about 2 hours away from me. Maybe if we found some Drupallers in Eau Claire we could meet in the middle. :)

... and me!

I am just getting started with Drupal, with the hope to use it on our library's website which needs a lot of work.

Hi

I looked at your profile... The La Crosse library?! Talk about irony... I offered to do their website for them back around 1997 or so. I was going to do it for free just for the experience but they turned me down. LOL

Drupal is a platform which allows people to converse on the net. There are forums, blogs, FAQ. I thought joining a Drupal group would mean internet interaction to solve my questions about Drupal. I can not travel hither and yon but I can type a bit. Could we have a Drupal discussion on this list? One of my major goals is to unite Wisconsin people to develop a Initiative and Binding referendum for Wisconsin. Can this be done on the internet? Look forward to a bit of discussion.

Where in Wisconsin are you? Your profile doesn't say.

As for your question, you might want to start a new discussion for that so it doesn't get lost in this thread.

You certainly could

Start a discussion here - but the groups are either aimed at a particular technology, or are geographic. So I think if you have GENERAL Drupal questions, or things you want to discuss, you might want to take that to one of the general Drupal discussions, just because you'll have a much larger group of people to talk to.

I'm up here in Menomonie. Just got back from Madison. Did a talk at the Wisconsin Nonprofits Association, some of which revolved around Drupal.

Thanks all, I am from Gresham WI 45m west of Green Bay, 45 miles east of Wausau. Some topics are state wide or perhaps topic specific. Steve mentioned interest in a political group and perhaps that could be started here too. Of course "local communities" can meet in person at local buildings for those free at that time. But the County or State communities benefit from cyber involvement.

I will start a topic as Michelle suggested. I am thinking of how we WI Drupalers can unite to develop things for Wisconsin. I see a great cost to Water developing in southern Wisconsin and I am absolutely against privatized water. I see foreign nations providing our basic infrastructure (water) than they dominate us. Perhaps we can develop a system for community infrastructure sustainability within State government? I am thinking of how we can help each other benefiting all.

As to specific Drupal questions, sometimes it is simply where to find the answer. [ I get lost sometimes :>) ]
