Wysiwyg - cannot get TinyMCE editor working

Hi All

I am setting up my first Drupal site and I cannot get the TinyMCE text editor to display on the screen when I create new content or edit existing content.

So far, I have:
1. Installed the WYSIWYG module as outlined at:
http://drupal.org/project/wysiwyg

  1. Installed the TinyMCE Editor

  2. Applied the patch found at:
    http://drupal.org/node/695398

  3. In the Wyswiwyg options, chosen TinyMCE 3.3 as my editor for Filtered HTML & Full HTML and used the Edit operation to turn on every available button

  4. Cleared my site's cache

The Wysiwyg editor still does not appear when I try to create a post or edit an existing one. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to add something in my theme or my code?

If there is another editor that is easier to get along with, I would appreciate any advice. I chose TinyMCE because it has so many options that I can turn on and off depending on how easy my users find working with them. I definitely want image uploads.

Any advice / help greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

One of the reasons I have chosen to work with Drupal is the great community that is behind it and the number of people who are passionate about making it the best it can be.

Regards

Ellie Electrons.

it's my theme

ok - I've figured out that the problem is my theme. I changed my theme to Garland and the WYSIWYG works. I created a custom theme by watching this video:

... so I guess I'm off to hunt down what is missing from my theme files!

You also need to make sure that you update your buttons. You have to click, click, click, (select all option folks? ah, nevermind I've got developer tools that can just insert all fields for me :) to add each button and option you'll have in your WYSIWYG. Maybe that was unnecessary, but maybe it's useful. Enjoy.

Working with TinyMCE 3.3 version main package, comes with lot of warnings, and i'm unable to configure it under Drupal. TimyMCE version with special jQuery build works fine.

I dont think that WYSIWYG is

I dont think that WYSIWYG is currently supporting 3.3, only 3.2

Wysiwyg supports TinyMCE 3.3

Wysiwyg supports TinyMCE 3.3 in the -dev and will do so in the soon to be released 2.1.

Hi ellieelectrons,
First timer here. I had the same problem - no editor displayed on create/edit body fields.

I had it working on a previous project so knew I had the configuration/permissions set right. Turns out I simply forgot to include the scripts variable:

<?php
print $scripts
?>

in the head of my custom page.tpl.php!

I hope this saves someone a bit of time out there...

Hi, I was having the same
