If anyone has done any research or worked w/ a marketing group to figure out how their local citizens and businesses prefer to interact w/ their local government to get things done, pay, get notifications, find out about proposed city development, learn about upcoming meetings of interest, etc. please post the findings here.
For instance:
Low Income Residents: Prefer interactive texting
45-54 age group: prefer mobile apps
25-34 - prefer mobile apps
Senior Citizens: prefer to call 80% of the time

Interesting...
Sorry @Scotty23. I'm afraid I don't know of any research findings myself but I'll keep an eye out and, if I spot any, I'll drop a link here.
Would be interested to see some myself if you find anything.
Are you building some sort of Drupal tech for enabling better contacts between citizens and councils then?

our group runs
our group runs louisvilleky.gov and we have a tool on the homepage at the bottom called MyLouisville. If you enter an address, such as 200 kennedy ave you can see it returns information for the citizen. We are wanting to completely blow that feature up, creating way more features whether you're a citizen, business, new resident or business. We want to allow more personalization, customization, add a ton of new features to it so that the user can have a more custom experience w/ their government. And while we are thinking we are starting on the site to make improvements to this tool, we also know we have to offer something in interactive text, mobile app form, etc. So we are going to be doing some market research on what our users want - but I wanted to reach out to see if anyone had done anything similar in other markets.
