I am fairly new to Open Atrium. I have been experimenting with creating a project portal that would require custom content types (such as companies, contracts, timesheet, etc.). I have been able to create these and also modify the layouts perfectly but I keep running into an issue when adding a group to a space.
I am wondering if anyone has had experience with this and could help me understand the process/settings to add a custom content type, section, etc. At this point I want to ensure that configuration that I used is not causing the issue. The content types need to use panelizer and be section aware.
thanks in advance,
mikeg

Custom Content Types and Sections
Custom content types are different entities in Drupal, however, in OA, sections types are driven in taxonomy. You can add a custom section type in the taxonomy vocabulary and then use them in spaces to place your 'custom' content into them. Keep an eye on the groups audience field as it is highly validated in OA and Organic Groups. Oh, and watch your panelizer settings as somewhere in OA they can be reset without any particular notice.
Here is a good example of how the community is able to ignore a need https://www.drupal.org/node/2615056
Hang in there, OA is just a distribution that uses Organic Groups. Create a new taxonomy term for sections, tie your content to that section type and watch your groups audience settings. I have been able to make Worktracker functional with a workgroup section and requesting section visibility (two sections) even though OA head developer said he would not support the use case. Of course that means that I am unable to upgrade to the latest greatest version, but, that works fine for us so long as our use-case is working and workflow is good.
Good luck in your endeavor and I will try to help if you need further info.
I hope this helps in some way.
