Why Drupal Groups use Meetups

it seems that jcbirder, and I assume others, do not recognize that this Drupal Groups site is separate from the Meetup page specifically for the Baltimore Drupal Meetup.

The details of any Meetup are on the Meetup site. Including, registering.

Sorry, but it was last night!

Click on the Join Us link (to get notified for next month) at this site:

The date is displayed above

But yes, we do use meetup for RSVP's. I'll be sure to make that clear the next time I post a meetup.

Many of the meetups post both on groups.drupal.org and on meetup.com. Meetup does a good job with reminders and event here get included on http://www.drupical.com/

Add date/time/location to message body

It may be redundant to those viewing it on the groups web page, but when the system emails out update notifications, it does not include any of the header information (date/time/location/links).

It would be useful to put that information in the body of the post so that it goes out in the email notifications.
