Time: 19:00 to 21:00
Location: The Working Centre, 58 Queen Street S., Kitchener
Many of us have used the AutoTrader.ca web site to shop for cars. The site has many specialized features that aid a person looking for cars to find what they want.
Can such an application be built in Drupal? Certainly!
For our March meeting, Blaine Lang of Nextide.ca will be dissecting for us a recently launched client project site. It is for the trucking industry to sell new and used trucking equipment.
It's a site that had a considerable challenges with migration of a custom built Cold Fusion site to Drupal.
He will walk us through the site features and how they were built including some of the backend admin features. It's a responsive themed site that supports English and French.
Blaine will also be going over the data model, Apache Solr search including proximity search, language localization and an overview of selected modules used and why.
Depending on time, we can explore more of the custom development challenges.
Meetings for the Waterloo Region Drupal Users Group happen on the third Thursday of each month (except for July, August and December). The meetings are held at The Working Centre, at 58 Queen Street South in Kitchener, between 19:00 and 21:00.
If you have a Drupal related topic, or showcasing a web site or a module that you built with Drupal, please contact us, and we will arrange for a talk.
