Lets get Niagara/Hamilton meetup going again.

Hi Niagara/Hamilton Drupal friends, We are planning to get our meetup going again and to get our great Drupal members back together on a monthly basis.

I was wondering how many of us are still in the area? My goals are to get the meetup going again with a new structure, great presentations and so on... also lots of Drupal8 goodness and all the great stuff our community is doing. I'm still hoping to alternate the meetings between Niagara and Hamilton. As for Hamilton we would need to find a venue (non bar type venue) I have already started checking with some contacts within Mohawk College, but nothing set yet.

Anyways, I'd love to hear from you all, so please let me know your thoughts!

It's a good thing Pierre has gotten the ball (puck?) rolling again.

Yes, D8 is a big topic, and with the new emphasis on decoupled and other new techniques there's plenty to cover in these meetings.

I think it would be good to draw in any PHP/Symfony folks from the region too.

What do people think of planning a summer outing, too? Maybe near NotL or thereabouts?

Thanks for the support and enthusiasm. Yeah lots of new good stuff within Drupal 8 and definitely, we'll sure try to cover lost of them...

Yeah I'm sure we are all excited about summer and for sure there will be a few events and I know you'll be there with us!

I'm in Brantford for the next few months, but I'd try to make a meet-up in Hamilton.

Key word is "try" — my wife is currently working in Guelph, so it's tough to get out of the house.

Thanks for the support Dave, I'm glad to know you are still in the area... well a bit further down, but I hope you can make to our meetups! Yeah I totally understand the family juggling, mine is a Phd Candidate at University of Toronto and full time Professor at Niagara college... I'll say lost of Drupal time between me and my daughter... lol

This is great. Thanks for taking the lead on this Pierre. I'll help however we can and we can use the space at Cowork Niagara for meetups. There's also podcasting gear here now too so we can record the talks if there's interest in that.
