I'm new to Pantheon and I have never updated a distribution before.
Can someone please post step by step instructions on how to update Atrium in Pantheon without using Drush?
Thanks

Updating Atrium on Pantheon
Hi Kevin,
What are you trying to update? If it's Atrium itself, which version? The current version on Pantheon is 7.x-2.54. If you are trying to update to 7.x-2.60-rc1, which was released this past week, that update hasn't yet come to Pantheon. As a general rule, updates for distributions that Pantheon supports (Atrium, Commons, etc) are executed through the dashboard, and incredibly easy. That's what makes Pantheon so great. My guess is that the new Atrium version will be available on Pantheon in a week or so -- and it's really brilliant. Usually Atrium updates come to Pantheon in a day or two after they're available on Drupal.org. But this update brings in lots of amazing stuff, so it's more complicated for the developers (Phase 2) than any previous Atrium I've seen. But again, it's extraordinary and just takes Atrium to a whole new level.
If you're trying to update contrib modules, then proceed with some caution.
So it matters what exactly you're trying to update.

I want to update the 2.54 to 2.60 today. I don't want to wait for Pantheon to update the site, I want to learn how to do it on my own.
With that in mind, can you please explain this incredibly easy process?
This is my main criticism with Drupal in general. There is never enough documentation to explain things so non developers and inexperienced developers like me can build our own sites without paying for outside help. This is the main reason why the learning curve is so steep.
AO update
This is how I do it on my server, not pantheon.

I found a company in India that is going to tutor me on AO site building through screen sharing at $15/hr. I start next week. If it is successful I will share the info here. I also plan on documenting and sharing my learning process.
Once you find the button everything is incredibly easy. Probably like piloting a 747 ;-). Finding the correct button or sequence is not easy though. I feel your pain brother, hang in there.
Thanks for the link, but I
Thanks for the link, but I can't use that method to update in Pantheon.
Yes, once you find the button and you know which button to push and when, then everything is incredibly easy.
Someone needs to write a book with those kinds of instructions named, 'Don't Make Me Think Drupal!'
LOL!
Looking forward to reading your documentation.
