Good afternoon,
I don't know about the rest of you, but time goes by terribly quickly sometimes. So here's an attempt to plan out some future local gatherings. I'm writing this in the hopes of soliciting your thoughts, suggestions, etc. in the comments.
This coming Tuesday is our next meetup, as you can see below I was thinking of meeting for a coffee - perhaps at the Western Ave Starbucks near UAlbany? (it has parking and more tables) Other venue recommendations for Tuesday or future coffee meetings welcome.
March, Tuesday March 29th - a coffee shop meeting, chat and share
April, Monday, April 25th - Object Oriented Programming or Drupal 8 theming? (depends on lining up speakers)
May, Tuesday, May 31st (yes, right after memorial day weekend - people game to meet that day?) - "Fine Tuning your local development environment: from DevDesktop to Drupal VM"
June, Monday, June 27th - ? whichever presentation didn't happen in April: OOP or D8 theming
July/August - joint meeting - Monday, July 25th? social gathering - location ideas?
Please share your thoughts and suggestions below. I have speakers lined up for most of the presentation topics I mention, but if you have a presentation idea and/or willingness to speak, put it below (or feel free to contact me directly).
Also, for the more formal presentations (i.e. not coffee) I'm going to try and get Google Hangouts working for people who want/need to be remote.

BTW - I noticed that it's tough to log into groups.drupal.org - but if you log into drupal.org and then visit these pages you should be able to comment.

Thanks for organizing! Looks like an interesting group of topics. I'm just curious, would setting up Twig be covered in Drupal 8 theming, or should we make sure to have everything set up and configured beforehand?

Having trouble logging in to sign-up for meetups and such? Log in at Drupal.org first, then navigate to your groups page; groups.drupal.org's login tends not to work.

Twig and D8
Good point, there is a lot new to D8 theming. I think that Twig could be its own topic actually - maybe we could break that out as part of the D8 Theme talk or have it as a topic on another night.
And it's funny - I was just going to post that same g.d.o issue! - it seems we should all be logging in through Drupal.org before coming over to these groups.drupal.org pages.
