Hello Everyone,
Here's the first call for speakers and sponsors for the DrupalCamp Gauteng 2016 to be held on the 26th and 27th of May in Rosebank (more details will follow once we have site site up).
I have spoken to so many people already interested, but as always, the DASA work is open to all and we work hard to keep it that way. So even if we have already spoken, please see this as the first formal call and reply again if you are interested.
For now, you don't have to pay immediately for sponsorship, we'll get to that in coming weeks. Just use my contact form here on GDoSA to let me know if you intend to sponsor the event or have ideas for a talk.
Organisation Sponsorships will be in three grades: R 2 000, R 5 000 and R 15 000 with no limit on slots for each grade. Individual sponsorship will be R 150.
Talks will be business related on the 26th and tech and community related on the 27th. Please also let me know if you want to do a long talk (40-45min) or a short one (10-15min) and the topic.
DASA's Vision Statement also leads to us working towards hosting an international DrupalCon in South Africa in the long term. To desensitise us all to the idea of paying for attending the larger events and to help with formal caps on attendance so that we can plan better, this will also be the first South African DrupalCamp with a ticket price for attendance. Likely set to R 100 it is not something to worry about and it won't contribute greatly to the budget, but it will definitely be something new for all of us.
