In this presentation, you will learn battle-tested strategies for bringing your Drupal theme in the modern era of the web. Significant performance, maintainability, and workflow improvements can be achieved by taking full advantage of the flexibility of Drupal's templating layer as well as modern web technologies. Strategies discussed include NodeJS build systems, Precision Asset Loading (or Code Splitting), and "Nearly Headless" (Decoupled) Drupal using ReactJS.

About The Presenter

Drew Trafton has been interested in the power of computing all his life. From his 10th birthday when he asked for a Java textbook to the present when he reads documentation in his spare time, Drew has always loved building interactive software. And now as a developer for Bowst Digital in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, he gets to boot up his machine and work on neat projects everyday (and still loves getting textbooks as presents). When he's not reading up the latest web innovations, you could probably find Drew enjoying a beer in downtown Portsmouth or going for a long run along New Hampshire's short but beautiful coastline.
