Content section creation outside a customer sub-space

Hi,

Am using OA2 and I have a general question that seemed to have stumped a couple of the guys that I work with.

Basic setup - OA 2 with the need for a client support ticketing system.

Here is how the site is constructed

Main Space (SUPPORT HOME - Access Public)
The support space for all clients to access, features here include a support wiki's/documents (content) sections.

Subspace (INDIVIDUAL CLIENT SUPPORT PAGES - Group access)
The clients support pages, holding section for the creation and viewing support tickets.

Problem
When in the subspace the client can create a support ticket from the Plus symbol (See attached) - I am looking to move this add content/section function from the Subspace to the Main space. This does not seem possible since the subsection for the clients portal seems to provide the variable for the URL entity reference.

Eg -
If you look at the attachment you can see that the URL appends/references the section ?oa_section_ref=975

Does anyone know of have found a solution on how to associate a subspace section_ref with the logged in user via views or custom module?
