Anyone in these forums able to guide me through some issues with Rules, specifically 'data selectors', in Drupal 8?
I'm mid-way through migration of a Drupal 6 site to Drupal 8 and would like to replace a big part of my old D6 custom module with Rules. Nothing too fancy, but I'm having no luck defining Rules in D8.
Specifics: I have two content types called 'show' and 'performance'. Each 'performance' has an entity reference field, 'field_show', to indicate what 'show' is being performed at a particular time and date. Each 'show' has a 'field_dates' indicating the range of dates when the show will run.
I'm trying to create a rule that fires after a new 'show' is created, and the action taken would create one 'performance' of the show for each of the show's field_dates values.
Has anyone been down a similar path with Rules in D8 yet? Or does anyone understand 'data selector' syntax well enough to coach me through setting necessary conditions and setting the target data?

How did you get on?
I read elsewhere that you have to add an 'Entity has field' condition, to make the content type available to the action. However this hasn't triggered the data selector in the action for me.
