I just took a new Drupal site live.... and have two reasons for posting about it here:
1) While there is nothing technically advanced or unusual about this site, it was built in only one Saturday (for the most part). If we have any new members show up after the free Drupal training earlier this month, I thought they might be interested in seeing how a basic site like this can be put together so quickly. If anybody would like a walk-through, let me know.
2) I thought a lot of members of this group would be interested in TEDx and want to invite you all to come!

Nice work! Looks slick - was the theme from scratch too and what did you base it on if so?
My OCD side noticed one tiny typo on the homepage text (you prob just copied and pasted in):
"Our event is call TEDxDesMoines" - called
DrupalCorn meetings
I know where DrupalCorn meets and on which day. But what time are the meetings? Thanks

It is a Zen subtheme. I actually used a neat little module called Zenophile that automates all the boring parts of creating a Zen subtheme... either from the admin interface or with Drush. Pretty fun.

Thanks. I don't think the meeting time is listed anywhere on he web page. I won't make it this month. But, I'm hoping to attend some of these in the future.
Regarding Zen
Very timely... I just created two new sites this past weekend using Zen and Zenophile. I agree, thus far the best way I have found to get a theme started.
Not much to it yet (definitely not yet ready for prime-time) but my latest Zen/Zenophile site is at http://srts.tamatoledo.org.
Weather looks OK for this evening. I think I might actually make it to the meeting for a change. Woot.
