Organizers:
Event type:
User group meeting

We hope you can join us for the next meeting of the Spokane Drupal User Group!

When
Thursday, May 18, 2017, 10 AM to noon
We meet on the 2nd or 3rd Thursday of most months at this time/location. Log in and join the Spokane Drupal User Group (see sidebar on https://groups.drupal.org/spokane-wa ) to be notified of future meetings, events, and discussions (typically just a few email messages per month).
Where
Spokane County Library - Argonne branch, 4322 N. Argonne Road, Millwood. We are normally meet in the small conference room. However, this month the small room is not available, so we will be in the large conference room instead. Enter from the hallway without going into the library. Whoever is leading the meeting will also need to stop by the checkout desk in the library to obtain the key to the room, and return it afterwards.
To be reminded, sign up!
To receive an email reminder closer to the date of the meeting, log in and click the "Sign up" button; log in and click "Cancel signup" at a later time if your schedule changes and you can no longer come. There's no obligation to come if you sign up (but we hope you will!). There's also no obligation to sign up in order to come (it's up to you if you want a reminder or not). However, the meeting could be canceled if the organizer isn't sure anyone is coming.
What
We spend two hours in a question and answer format, with the participants around a table and a laptop on a projector. Come with questions about a project you're working on, something you've learned that you'd like to share with others, a desire to improve Drupal in some way (documentation, programming, design, marketing etc.), or a desire to help others with their projects and questions. Or just come and listen and observe.
Who
Everyone is welcome -- the only prerequisite is having some interest in Drupal. This group is usually 5-10 friendly people, with experience levels ranging from novice to expert, so you'll fit right in. Because of the size of the group, you will have time to share something you've learned, or get your questions answered, or both!

Comments

Room change! And meeting leaders, projector, etc.

Please note that this month, we are meeting in the large meeting room at the Argonne library. The small conference room that we normally use is not available, so I booked us the large room instead. We'll most likely have to set up a table and chairs, and put them away after the meeting, and we'll definitely have to get the room key from the checkout desk in the library and return it after the meeting.

Also note that there is a chance I will not be able to make it to this meeting. Hopefully I will be there, but I cannot guarantee it, due to the possibility of travel complications.

Jon and Shawn have agreed to lead the meeting if I am not there. Jon and Jose both have projectors that they can bring... please coordinate between the two of you, or possibly both plan to bring your projectors, so that there will be at least one projector there if I do not show up. Having three there is better than zero! :)

Topic to cover: Mollom going away ?!?

jhodgdon's picture

It appears that the Mollom anti-spam module will be going away in about a year:
https://www.mollom.com/eol

I think at least some of our Spokane Drupal users use the module to combat spam on their web sites, so you might want to take a look at that.

Meeting Today at 10am

I have talked with Shawn and he and I will be there today. We have a few things to share. I have Powerpoint on using Webforms. Shawn has a few tricks up his sleeves and can talk about a new module he wrote for me and how he used a custom module, context, views and a content type to create a utility that updates my domain structure for use on my test, development and staging sites. Real Time Saver.
